Duran 'Lights Out' in Phoenix Win
|
The Phoenix Lights picked up a win at Mitts Fieldhouse, knocking off the Marysville Monarchs, 7-0. Starting pitcher Roberto Duran, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Phoenix is now 25-31.
The Lights liked what they saw from Duran. The 21-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Monarchs to no earned runs on 4 hits over 7.1 innings, and striking out 10.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Duran.
