Snaps Win at Wichita, 4-3
|
The Cincinnati Snaps and Wichita Wolverines completed their game despite the rain.
The Cincinnati Snaps took Wichita pitcher Kunio Otsuka's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Howling Park. The final score had Cincinnati getting past the Wolverines, 4-3. Otsuka went 9 innings and allowed 4 earned runs, striking out 10. Bryan Blashill was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 16 save opportunities.
The Snaps got a big at-bat from right fielder Greg Bova. For the game, Bova went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 4-3 lead.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Bova.
The third-place Snaps improved to 27-33.
