The DeKalb Cornhuskers bested the Sandy Springs Spartans by a score of 3-2, with first baseman Dan Moss getting the main credit. On the day, Moss was 2-4 with a home run for the Cornhuskers. DeKalb reliever Masuhiro Miyazaki picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Steve Vincent shouldered the loss. Bill Neville converted his 16th save in 18 tries.

The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from left fielder Eric Daniels. For the game, Daniels was 1 for 4. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 54th hit of the season gave DeKalb a 3-2 lead.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said DeKalb skipper Eduardo Varerla.

DeKalb is now riding a 4-game win streak.
