Islanders Come Up Short at New England
|
The New England Colonials eked out a 5-4 win versus the Hawaii Islanders at Skellington Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Kichibei Endo, who captured player of the game honors. New England is now 15-23, Hawaii 22-17.
Mark Spencer, who is tied for 3rd in the RCL in doubles with 10, aided the New England cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Endo. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
