Multi-HR Day for Serrano as Beetlecats Overpower Lights, 6-2
|
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats topped the Phoenix Lights, 6-2, with center fielder Marcos Serrano playing a big role. Serrano went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Beetlecats in the win. Buzzard's Bay reliever Justin Taylor was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Craig Collier took the loss for Phoenix. The Beetlecats now own a record of 22-31.
Raúl Molina drove in one run for Buzzard's Bay. The 23-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Craig Collier. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Molina told the Buzzard's Bay Bulletin.
