The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats beat the Topeka Predators, 9-8, at Bloomfield Road. Buzzard's Bay center fielder Marcos Serrano earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The win was credited to Takeo Takano in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Oscar Ruiz took the loss. Buzzard's Bay now has a 3-game win streak.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Buzzard's Bay catcher Juan Cruz, facing Oscar Ruiz, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Beetlecats the 9-8 win.
