The Silicon Valley Hackers did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Boise Hawks at Basque Block Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Tomohito Ihara, who captured player of the game honors. The winning pitcher was Ihara, now 4-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Silicon Valley is now 28-16, 2½ games up in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter J.P. Turner drew a walk. The Hackers went on to win.

"It feels good to get this one," Ihara told the Silicon Valley Citizen.
