The Sandy Springs Spartans topped the Spokane Bulldogs, 8-6, at The Coliseum. Sandy Springs right fielder Hirofumi Ishibashi earned player of the game honors. He banged out 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 4 runs. The winner was Sandy Springs reliever Jae-bok Han, now 3-1. The loser was Danny Stewart. Hideaki Nakayama saved it for Sandy Springs.

Had Steve Pyles not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Pyles hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Spartans.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Ishibashi.
