The Jacksonville Hellcats and Riverside Red Bulls cranked it up at Hellcats Park.

Riverside beat Jacksonville at Hellcats Park, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Li-xue Liu, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Reliever António Aguilar picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Len Adkins took the loss.

The Red Bulls got a big at-bat from left fielder John Boughner. For the game, Boughner was 1 for 4 with a triple. In the top of the seventh, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Riverside a 5-4 lead.

"I felt good up there," said Liu. "I saw the ball well."

The last-place Hellcats have lost 4 straight games.
