Black Bears Come Up Short at Long Island
|
The Long Island Ducks eked out a 2-1 win versus the Fraser Valley Black Bears at Long Island Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jackson Knickle, who captured player of the game honors. The Ducks, now 20-18, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Jorge Guerrero aided the Long Island cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the first. For the game, the third baseman went 1-3 with a double and a walk.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Guerrero. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
