Hardwick Helps Black Bears Run Win Streak to 3
|
Fraser Valley third baseman John Hardwick made his presence felt in the 6-3 Black Bears triumph over the Long Island Ducks. Hardwick went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Luis González got the win, improving to 3-0. He worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Nobutoshi Katayama got credit for the save for Fraser Valley. It was his 11th of the year.
Hardwick had a big at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Black Bears went on to win.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hardwick told the Fraser Valley Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
Fraser Valley is now riding a 3-game win streak.
