The Sandy Springs Spartans got a superb performance from pitcher Riley Goodall, but the Rock River Rats still won the game, 7-4. Goodall was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. An-te-hai Xin, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. Steve Cherry got credit for the save for Rock River. It was his 8th of the year.

The Rats got a big at-bat from third baseman Ricky Boitel. For the game, Boitel went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Rock River a 3-2 lead.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Boitel said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
