The Phoenix Lights topped the Biloxi Bullets, 7-5, in Cory Lidle League action at The Sand Dune. The player of the game was Phoenix pitcher Ryuhei Akamine. Phil Kettenring got credit for the save for Phoenix. It was his 2nd of the year. The Lights improved to 15-21.

Justin Nichols, who leads the CLL in doubles with 14, aided the Phoenix cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth. For the game, the first baseman was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Akamine told the Phoenix Daily. "It's as simple as that."
