Jesús Rivera could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Fraser Valley Black Bears lost, dropping a 3-0 decision to the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Corn Crib. DeKalb's record now stands at 15-19, placing them last in the Roy Halladay League Bruce Bochy Division.

Willie Zavala's at-bat in the bottom of the third inning was a big one for DeKalb. Coming to bat with two out, runners on 1st and 2nd and DeKalb leading 1-0, the designated hitter reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Zavala told the DeKalb Daily.
