Tune-Ups Win at Jacksonville, 6-4
|
The Youngstown Tune-Ups beat the Jacksonville Hellcats, 6-4, at Hellcats Park. John Gero was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The 22-year old third baseman was a menace to Jacksonville all day. Sachi Kakuta closed the game out for Youngstown, earning his 3rd save. Youngstown, at 16-18, sits in 5th place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League.
The Tune-Ups got a big at-bat from center fielder Mitsukuni Ojima. For the game, Ojima went 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 19th hit of the season gave Youngstown a 4-3 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Ojima said.
