Hackers Sneak Past Tune-Ups, 3-2
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers racked up a win at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum, bumping off the Youngstown Tune-Ups, 3-2. Tomohito Ihara, who started for Silicon Valley, pitched effectively for his team. Quiang Tu finished to wrap up his 13th save. The Tune-Ups fall to 15-18 and continue their wobbly start to the 2034 season.
The Hackers got a big at-bat from first baseman John Farley. For the game, Farley went 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 20th hit of the season gave Silicon Valley a 3-2 lead.
"We were in it," said Youngstown manager Robby Tate. "We just didn't score enough runs."
