Victory Pushes Red Bulls Record to 18-14
|
The Riverside Red Bulls knocked off the Boise Hawks, 6-4, at Basque Block Field. Tadahisa Iwamoto, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Riverside won. The catcher was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Juan Carlos Gómez, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held the Hawks to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 4. The win leaves Riverside with a record of 18-14.
Iwamoto had a key at-bat for Riverside early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and gave Riverside an early 2-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Iwamoto, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
