Snaps Rally For Late Win Over Beehive
|
Madison pitcher Gilberto Vega gave the Snaps all they could handle, but in the end, Cincinnati left The Hive with a 4-2 win. Vega allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 8 innings. Bryan Blashill recorded his 8th save for Cincinnati. The Beehive, at 8-21, have stumbled out of the gate.
The Snaps got a big at-bat from right fielder Greg Bova. For the game, Bova went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 3-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Bova said.
