Multi-HR Day for Wada as Ducks Overpower Hellcats, 7-4
|
The Long Island Ducks defeated the Jacksonville Hellcats, 7-4, at Long Island Stadium. Long Island third baseman Shoya Wada was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Jacksonville, at 8-22, is off to a poor start in 2034.
Wada had a big at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Ducks went on to win.
In postgame comments to the Long Island Times, Wada said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
