Carson City designated hitter Pedro Moreno was sensational. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Boise beat the Mustang, 7-5. Moreno was named the player of the game despite the loss. The save went to Jesús Ordóńez, his 7th this season. Boise, now 19-12, has played well in the early going.

The Hawks got a big at-bat from shortstop Miguel Garza. For the game, Garza went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 8th double of the season gave Boise a 4-3 lead.

In postgame comments to the Boise News, Garza said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
