It was a fun time at Cowboys Stadium, where the Boise Hawks and Carson City Mustang tangled.
The Carson City Mustang bested the Boise Hawks, 9-3, at Cowboys Stadium. Larry Franzen was named player of the game. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Kaong Foong picked up the win with 8.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 3-3.
With Carson City leading 3-0 in the bottom of the second, Franzen hit a fastball from Tommy Montgomery for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Mustang ahead, 7-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Franzen told the Carson City Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The win moves Carson City to a record of 16-14.
