Earthquakes Waste Great Game from Quiroz
|
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Robbie Quiroz, the San Francisco Earthquakes suffered a 8-5 loss to the Bloomington Blazers. Quiroz was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Pedro Vazquez got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 6.1 innings. Bloomington is now riding a 3-game win streak.
The Blazers got a big at-bat from left fielder Roger Barrett. For the game, Barrett was 1 for 3, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Bloomington a 4-2 lead.
