The Fraser Valley Black Bears bested the Riverside Red Bulls, 6-4, at The Stetson Bowl. Robby Nave was named player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Fraser Valley reliever David Pena was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Ramon Trinidad took the loss. Fraser Valley, now 21-8, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Nave had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-2 slider from Ramon Trinidad, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Black Bears a 5-4 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Nave.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Nave.
