Bullets Prevail, 3-1, Over DeKalb
|
The DeKalb Cornhuskers got a superb performance from first baseman Esteban Martinez, but the Biloxi Bullets still won the game, 3-1. Martinez was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. José Berrios, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. Doug Durham closed the game out for Biloxi, earning his 5th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Biloxi, had it not been for Richard Ndadaye, the speedster . Ndadaye contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Biloxi up, 2-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Ndadaye said.
The Cornhuskers drop to 10-17 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2034 season.
