Predators Raise Rally Flag, Beat Phoenix, 7-5
|
The Phoenix Lights got a superb performance from first baseman Justin Nichols, but the Topeka Predators still won the game, 7-5. Nichols was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Lights drop to 11-17 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2034 season.
Jorge Perez hit a bases-clearing triple off Nobuhiko Newton in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Predators in front, 7-4. Perez had 2 walks, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Perez said.
