Tune-Ups Clip Black Bears in Tight Contest
|
The Youngstown Tune-Ups faced a tough opponent in Fraser Valley pitcher Neil Coffin, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum by a final score of 4-3. Coffin went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Losses have been few and far between for the Black Bears, who are now 19-8.
Brian Briggs was the walk-off hero for Youngstown. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tune-Ups right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This was a good win," said Briggs.
