Hornets Need Extras to Top Prowlers

The Eureka Hornets picked up a win at The Nest, knocking off the Oklahoma City Prowlers, 5-4. On the mound for Eureka was left-hander Mitsunari Kobayashi, who played a pivotal role in the win. Eureka reliever Hulusi Mumcu picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Manuel Guerrero took the loss. With the win, the Hornets improved to 23-15.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Brian Delmont came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Oklahoma City pitcher Manuel Guerrero, he hit a 2-2 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Eureka on top, 5-4.
"Games like this one keep the antacid makers in business," quipped Oklahoma City manager Evan Kiser.
