The Carson City Mustang defeated the Phoenix Lights, 5-3, in Roy Halladay League action at UFO Field, with Carson City pitcher Jack Thompson named player of the game. Thompson went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 6, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-2. Gang Niu earned the save, his 8th.
José González, who is tied for 5th in the RHL in stolen bases with 8, helped out the Carson City cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3 with a walk.
"It was a good effort all around," said Thompson.
The Lights fall to 11-15 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2034 season.
