Hackers Win at Marysville, 4-1
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers picked up a win at Mitts Fieldhouse, knocking off the Marysville Monarchs, 4-1. Starting pitcher Tomohito Ihara was an essential part of his team's success. Ihara, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Silicon Valley, now 14-9, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The game was on the line with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning, but Josh Belcher didn't flinch. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Marysville trailing 3-1, Belcher retired Adrian Sparks to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Belcher, with a wink.
