Bombers Win at Maple, 9-5
|
Rafael Campos was instrumental in his team's 9-5 triumph over the Maple Marauders. The center fielder went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the South Carolina Bombers. Ange Schmit picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-3. He struck out 5 in 6 innings. The Bombers improve their record to 18-17 with the win over Maple.
Jesús Dela, who is a three-time All-Star, chipped in for South Carolina with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the catcher had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Campos told the South Carolina Chronicle.
