Hellcats Deal Osos Painful Loss
|
The Jacksonville Hellcats stymied the Ruidoso Osos, 3-2, at Hellcats Park. Pancho Benavidez, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles for Jacksonville. The win was credited to Tadakatsu Murayama in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Bob Sulewski took the loss. The Hellcats are off to a tough start, getting just their 7th win in 22 games.
Jacksonville won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Bob Sulewski on the mound for Ruidoso, first baseman Sam Whitmore hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Hellcats fans to their feet.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Ruidoso skipper John Perry, "and it cost us."
