Black Bears Come Back Late to Clip Snaps
|
Cincinnati got a terrific performance from pitcher Diego Castro, but it wasn't enough to beat the Fraser Valley Black Bears. Fraser Valley won the The Studio contest, 5-3. Castro was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. Picking up the save was Nobutoshi Katayama, his 6th. The Black Bears keep rolling, raising their record to 13-7.
The Black Bears got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Jesús Ramos. For the game, Ramos went 1 for 1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Fraser Valley a 4-3 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Ramos after the game.
