Long Island and Wichita duked it out at Howling Park and the Ducks came out victorious.

The Long Island Ducks did just enough to secure a 6-5 victory over the Wichita Wolverines at Howling Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Maurice Oakley, who captured player of the game honors. John Welch, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Bartolo Alicpa locked down his 5th save.

The Ducks got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Steve Woods. For the game, Woods was 1 for 1 with a home run. In the top of the ninth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Long Island a 6-5 lead.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Long Island manager Blake Malone.

The Wolverines drop to 9-10 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2034 season.
