Victory Over Cornhuskers Takes San Antonio to 10-6
|
San Antonio designated hitter Orrin Martell had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 6-2. Douggie Gimson got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Yoshikazu Ichihara locked down his 6th save.
Edwin Ruiz aided the San Antonio cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder drew 2 walks in 4 trips to the plate.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Martell said after the game.
The Cornhuskers fall to 6-10 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2034 season.
