The Topeka Predators got a stellar performance from pitcher Angel Chavez, who handcuffed the Sandy Springs offense en route to a 4-2 win at The Field at Richmond. Topeka reliever Adam Anderson was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Alonso Palma took the loss. The save went to Oscar Ruiz, his 6th this season.

The Predators got a big at-bat from center fielder Mario Ozuna. For the game, Ozuna went 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 18th hit of the season gave Topeka a 3-2 lead.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Topeka manager Dan Jones. "Our pregame was pretty good."

The Spartans fall to 7-7 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.
