The Cincinnati Snaps got a stellar effort from pitcher Diego Castro, helping Cincinnati score a 4-2 win over the visiting San Antonio Storm Troopers. Cincinnati reliever Bob Torley picked up the win to move to 1-0. Tagashashi Ueda suffered the loss. The win takes Cincinnati to 7-6.
Had Ken Simpson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Simpson hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Snaps.
"I just love going out and having a big game," Castro said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."
