Beavers Squelch Republic Offense in Shutout Win
Pitcher Felipe De La Hoya was sensational for the Portland Beavers in his team's 3-0 triumph over the So Cal Republic. De La Hoya received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. De La Hoya went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-3. Olivier Martin closed the game out for Portland, earning his 10th save.

The Beavers got a big at-bat from center fielder Lai-hsiang Xiu. For the game, Xiu went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Portland a 2-0 lead.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said De La Hoya.

Portland is now riding a 3-game win streak.
