Victory Pushes Red Bulls Record to 9-4
|
Riverside beat Youngstown on the strength of starter Héctor Bello's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Bello, now 3-0. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 7. The Red Bulls, now 9-4, have been on a roll in the early going.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the bottom of the third inning. That's when center fielder Jarred Ferdig, who leads the CLL in home runs with 6, drew a walk. The Red Bulls went on to win.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Ferdig told the Riverside News.
