Predators Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Topeka Predators defeated the Cincinnati Snaps, 5-2, in Roy Halladay League action at The Field at Richmond, with Topeka pitcher Angel Chavez named player of the game. Chavez went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-1. Oscar Ruiz finished to wrap up his 4th save.
The Predators got a big at-bat from left fielder Jim Bailey. For the game, Bailey was 2-3 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 10th hit of the season gave Topeka a 2-1 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Chavez told the Topeka Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Topeka is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 4th win in 12 games.
