Shamrocks Lose, 6-5, at UFO Field
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Qing-nian Hsu, the Pacifica Shamrocks suffered a 6-5 loss to the Phoenix Lights. Hsu was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Phoenix reliever Juan Montés picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Royce Leveque absorbed the loss. Brian Mullins picked up the save, his 2nd.

Dave Turner was 1-2 with a triple, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Phoenix. The 21-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Dario Reyes. It was his 4th walk of the season.

In postgame remarks, Turner said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."

Phoenix, now 4-7, is off to a slow start.
