Ducks Prevail, 5-3, Over DeKalb
|
The Long Island Ducks picked up a win at Long Island Stadium, knocking off the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 5-3. Starting pitcher António Domínguez was an essential part of his team's success. Bartolo Alicpa locked down his 1st save. The Cornhuskers fall to 4-6 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.
The Ducks got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Henry Amesbury. For the game, Amesbury went 1 for 1. In the bottom of the seventh, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 5th hit of the season gave Long Island a 4-3 lead.
"It's a mindset," said Domínguez. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
