Bloomington starter Victor Hernandez pitched effectively against the San Francisco Earthquakes at Golden Gate Park. The right-hander led his team to a 2-0 win. The Blazers, at 18-15, lead by one game in their division.

The Blazers got a big at-bat from shortstop Fernando Franco. For the game, Franco went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Bloomington a 1-0 lead.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Franco said.
