The Pacifica Shamrocks beat the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 10-1, at McCormick Field. The Shamrocks got a fine performance from right fielder Daniel Cruz, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Pacifica reliever Royce Leveque picked up the win to move to 1-0. Qing-lai Juan suffered the loss. The win brings the Shamrocks to 7-3, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

The tide might have turned with two out in the top of the third, had not Subaru Suzuki made a big pitch. With the bases loaded and the Beetlecats trailing 2-0, he retired Jeff Klein, who flied out.
