Black Bears Bang Out 8-3 Win Versus Long Island
|
Fraser Valley right-hander Adam Andersen pitched his team to victory over the Long Island Ducks at The Stetson Bowl. The final score was 8-3. Andersen went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-0. Fraser Valley, now 6-2, has played well in the early going.
The Black Bears got a big at-bat from third baseman John Hardwick. For the game, Hardwick went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Fraser Valley a 2-0 lead.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Andersen.
