Phoenix first baseman Justin Nichols made his presence felt in the 5-3 Lights triumph over the Biloxi Bullets. Nichols was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Brian Mullins closed the game out for Phoenix, earning his 1st save. The win leaves Phoenix with a record of 3-4.
The Lights got a big at-bat from left fielder Jamie Rose. For the game, Rose was 1 for 3 with 2 walks. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 9th hit of the season gave Phoenix a 4-3 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Nichols told the Phoenix Daily.
