It was a good time at Bloomfield Road, where fans came to watch the Phoenix Lights and Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats get after it.
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats got a stellar effort from pitcher Jesús Tobías, helping Buzzard's Bay score a 3-1 win over the visiting Phoenix Lights. Tobías picked up the win for Buzzard's Bay, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.
Kijuro Harada aided the Buzzard's Bay cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Harada.
Buzzard's Bay, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
