The Long Island Ducks walked off with a big win today at Long Island Stadium.

The Long Island Ducks defeated the Rock River Rats, 12-11. Earning player of the game honors was designated hitter Oscar Saenz, who went 4 for 5 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Long Island reliever Steve Misiak was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Pablo Martínez took the loss for Rock River.

Long Island's win came gift-wrapped. With two out in the bottom of the 11th, with the game tied, Henry Amesbury reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Blake Malone, the Long Island skipper. "This one tested us."

Long Island, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
