Kodiaks Rally For Late Win Over Mustangs
The Billings Mustangs got a superb performance from pitcher Luis Sánchez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Calgary. The Kodiaks won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Sánchez was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. Calgary reliever James Woodard was the winner. His record is now 2-5. The losing pitcher was Luis Sánchez. The Kodiaks saw their record improve to 69-93.

Had Dave Calderon not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Calderon hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Kodiaks.

"We found a way to get it done," Calderon said.
