Tight Tilt Goes to Flash, 3-2
|
Fairfield and Bowling Green played a hard-fought contest at Top of the Hill.
Despite a great performance by Bowling Green second baseman Ryan Lewry, the Fairfield Flash defeated the Racers by the score of 3-2 at Top of the Hill. Lewry went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Paul Calamy got the save, his 18th in 24 chances.
The Flash got a big at-bat from second baseman Taylor Bastien. For the game, Bastien was 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 22nd home run of the season gave Fairfield a 3-2 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Bastien.
The 5th-place Flash have won 4 in a row.
