Aeropostales Stymie Fort Worth, Take 4-1 Win
|
Indian Wells starter Phil Phillips put a stranglehold on the Fort Worth offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Aeropostales to a 4-1 win. Phillips got the win, improving to 11-11. He allowed 6 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. Phillips allowed 1 earned run. The Aeropostales bumped their record to 82-76 with this latest triumph.
The Aeropostales got a big at-bat from center fielder Anthony Miller. For the game, Miller went 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 127th hit of the season gave Indian Wells a 2-0 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Miller.
